The celebration of the 47th anniversary of Wainscott Sewing Society, which was held on Wednesday afternoon in the parish house, will be pleasantly remembered by between 100 and 200 ladies who attended. After a delightful social afternoon all sat down to the delicious supper which had been prepared with so much thoughtful care. The tables were beautifully decorated with sweet peas of a deep pink, the gift of Miss. Jenny and Florence Osborn, through the kindness of Thomas Berg. Among the guests were Mrs. Carolyn Hopping, Mrs. Emily Hedges, Mrs. L. N. Hallock, Mrs. Arthur L. Hallock, Miss Maud Hedges, Misses Nathan O. Hedges, Mrs. N. C. Hedges and son, Miss A. L. Osborn, Mrs. Charles Bennett, of Bridgehampton, Mrs. Sherrill Hedges, Mrs. Harry Randall and daughter, of Wainscott, Mrs. E. D. Hedges, Miss Mary Cooper, Miss Etta Hedges, Mrs. G. C. Topping, Mrs. Alfred P. Rogers, Mrs. H. L. Topping, Mrs. E. J. Thomson, Miss Helen Rogers, of Sagaponack and Mrs. Charles Conklin, Mrs. Ralph Conklin, Mrs. c. H. Dayton, Mrs. Ralph Frazee, Alice and Charles Frazee and Miss Evelyn Talmage, of East Hampton. Miss Florence Osborn and Mrs. Howard Hand gave historical sketches of the Wainscott benevolent sewing society which, 47 years ago, was organized, the first Society of the kind in the Hamptons. There are but two of the original members now living. Mrs. John H. Hand and Mrs. Mary Osborn.
